About the position

The Non-Dispensing Lead Tech at Kroger Health is responsible for guiding and training pharmacy associates in a closed-door pharmacy environment. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, mentoring new hires, and supporting the production supervisor in maintaining high performance standards across the pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor new hire technicians, providing day-to-day training and support for pharmacy associates.
  • Identify training opportunities and coordinate on-the-job training/cross-training with supervisors.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, recognizing areas of opportunity and coaching associates as appropriate.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the department.
  • Assist the shift supervisor in developing and complying with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensuring compliance by associates.
  • Ensure execution of department standards by leading by example and delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Complete all technician tasks on the production floor as needed.
  • Encourage, monitor, and assist new technicians through the technician training program.
  • Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, relaying any shift issues and concerns to management, and communicating information from management back to the team.
  • Guide associates to ensure established procedures, policies, and practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with shift supervisors to determine daily tasks to be completed and direct associates accordingly.

Requirements

  • Must be PTCB certified or currently hold provisional certification.
  • Must have satisfactory production numbers at non-dispensing stations.
  • History of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience as a trainer or experience in coaching and developing associates.
  • Proven communication skills to effectively communicate information to management and fellow associates.
  • Experience working with multiple people simultaneously and with differing personalities.
