About the position
The Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver and EMT position at F&B Medical Transport involves safely transporting patients and clients using company vehicles. The role requires effective communication with dispatch, maintaining a professional demeanor, and ensuring vehicle cleanliness. The company provides on-the-job training, making it suitable for entry-level candidates, while also accommodating various work schedules.
Responsibilities
- Transporting patients and clients utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
- Safely moving, lifting, and positioning patients with medical equipment (gurney, wheelchair, stair chair).
- Communicating effectively with dispatch regarding schedule and receiving instructions.
- Maintaining a professional image and attitude in regards to patients, family members, and co-workers.
- Completing daily vehicle pre-shift and post-shift inspections, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
- Assisting clients/patients as needed to safely complete the transfer.
- Understanding instructions in English (both written and spoken).
- Operating tablets, two-way radios, and medical transportation software.
- Performing all duties as assigned by dispatcher.
Requirements
- Valid and clean California Driver's License.
- Must have possessed a valid California Driver's license for at least 3 years.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must exceed minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must be able to get non-ambulatory driver permit.
- Must pass a mandatory criminal background test.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Experience as a van driver for at least 1 year.
