About the position

The Accountant/Finance Associate at The Andrews Group will work closely with the CFO to implement effective financial management practices within a nonprofit environment. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the community while leveraging their accounting skills, particularly in payroll processing and cash management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CFO with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Provide assistance with actual to budget variance analysis and prepare commentary on financial statements.
  • Perform general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payables and receivables, building positive relationships with vendors and patrons.
  • Handle cash payments and reconciliations, making bank deposits as needed.
  • Process payroll for staff on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Assist with various financial special projects, including grant reporting by supplying financial information for grant applications and management.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
  • Related experience ideally in a nonprofit setting.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while meeting demands and deadlines of simultaneous projects.
  • Proven focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and QuickBooks (or comparable financial software).
  • Experience processing payroll highly preferred (Paycor is the current payroll system).
  • Ability to work collegially within a small organization.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
