About the position

The Nonprofit Database Manager will oversee program data management and ensure data integrity within application systems for an established nonprofit in the Bay Area. This remote, interim position focuses on optimizing operational processes and database systems while collaborating with a cohesive team to support impactful program initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program data management to ensure data integrity within application systems and compatibility with internal platforms and the web.
  • Support program teams in evaluation aligned with organizational frameworks.
  • Collaborate with program staff to update policies, agreements, forms, and evaluation tools.
  • Collect, analyze, and report program data for staff, board, partners, stakeholders, and funders.
  • Coordinate with Communications and Development to share program impacts and updates with external audiences.
  • Assist with preparing board presentations and supporting board committee meetings as needed.
  • Manage Salesforce data accuracy and system customization, including deduplication and list management.
  • Oversee and implement database-related projects and enhancements.
  • Design and generate organization-wide database reports and mailing lists.
  • Conduct routine contact updates and provide staff with technical support and training for database use.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce protocols, process documentation, and user guides.
  • Serve as Salesforce lead, monitoring updates and recommending process improvements as organizational needs evolve.
  • Support and oversee the grant process for various initiatives, acting as the primary administrative contact for applicants while ensuring the ongoing refinement of related procedures and systems.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience and proficiency in SalesForce including data management, system customization, program evaluation, and reporting; backend architecture experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to collect, analyze, and report on data to inform program decisions and improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with program staff, board members, and external partners.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred; demonstrated experience and skills are highly valued.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
