The Andrew P. Stewart Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of Director of Community Development. This full-time role is pivotal in overseeing and managing the community development initiatives in collaboration with the neighborhood association and the Gideons Housing Task Force (GHTF). The Andrew P. Stewart Center is a nonprofit organization located in southwest Atlanta, committed to empowering local residents to lead purposeful lives and reach their full potential. The organization focuses on fostering strong communities through educational enrichment, wellness resources, and housing solutions, directing its resources in partnership with Pittsburgh residents to transform the neighborhood into a beacon of hope and opportunity. As the backbone organization for the GHTF, the Center plays a crucial role in ensuring that low to moderate-income families with children in the Gideons enrollment zone have access to essential resources that promote thriving families, neighborhood sustainability, and stewardship. The Director of Community Development will be responsible for managing the continued development of the GHTF, overseeing projects, strategies, and performance measures, and advancing neighborhood initiatives in partnership with community members. This includes leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of community programs aligned with established goals and objectives, such as hosting the annual Housing and Resource Fair, facilitating community resource connections, conducting community listening sessions, and supervising financial education programs. The ideal candidate for this role is a resilient, collaborative, and results-oriented individual who excels at building relationships and managing complex projects in an urban environment. They should possess prior knowledge and experience in community development, particularly in facilitating cross-sector partnerships or coalitions. Success in this role will require strong project management skills, effective communication abilities, collaborative leadership, program development and implementation expertise, and a commitment to relationship-building with community members and stakeholders.
