About the position

The North America Indigenous Right Project Manager at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is responsible for overseeing and implementing complex initiatives that focus on Indigenous rights and conservation efforts. This remote position requires a deep understanding of Indigenous communities and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to address environmental challenges. The role emphasizes the importance of diversity, respect for cultures, and the creation of safe spaces for dialogue and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and implement large and complex initiatives, processes, and projects.
  • Develop project plans and establish team structures.
  • Facilitate meetings and manage timelines to ensure project accountability.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities within the project team.
  • Engage in issue resolution and conflict management to collaboratively solve complex problems.
  • Model the work of right relations and create safe spaces for co-creation, learning, and change.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 6 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Lived and professional experiences in Indigenous studies, conservation practice, project management, and/or natural resource management.
  • Experience leading complex projects or strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience researching, critically analyzing, and evaluating information from divergent sources.
  • Ability to compile information into cohesive reports and recommendations for strategy and action.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Peoples or in multicultural/multidisciplinary contexts.
  • Experience writing and editing promotional and informational material.
