About the position

The IRR Project Manager is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and implementing large and complex initiatives related to Indigenous rights relations. This role requires lived experience working with Indigenous communities and involves problem-solving, project planning, and fostering collaboration across various organizational levels. The Project Manager will engage in diverse priorities, including enhancing Indigenous ownership of lands and waters and supporting Indigenous-led conservation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee large and complex initiatives and projects.
  • Develop project plans and establish team structures.
  • Facilitate meetings and manage timelines to ensure accountability.
  • Engage in issue resolution and conflict management to collaboratively solve complex problems.
  • Create safe spaces for co-creation, learning, and change.
  • Navigate interdependencies and ensure alignment of activities across the program's strategic pillars.
  • Develop expertise around right relations and the IRR program's strategic focus areas.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 6 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Lived and professional experiences in Indigenous studies, conservation practice, project management, and/or natural resource management.
  • Experience leading complex projects or strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and evaluating information from diverse sources.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Peoples or in multicultural/multidisciplinary contexts.
  • Experience writing and editing promotional and informational material.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the histories, cultures, rights, and policies related to Indigenous Peoples of North America.
  • Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion in conservation design and implementation.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Ability to develop and drive new ideas and approaches.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $65,500 - $98,000 per year.
  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
  • Day shift work hours.
