About the position

The Field Service Technician at BWT Pharma & Biotech is responsible for the maintenance and service of water treatment equipment across various technologies. This role involves troubleshooting, commissioning new systems, and ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive service. The technician will work both independently and collaboratively with customers, requiring strong communication skills and a commitment to quality work.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on water treatment equipment including electro-mechanical repairs and part replacements.
• Troubleshoot issues remotely and on-site for both electrical and mechanical questions.
• Commission new systems at customer sites, completing detailed commissioning documentation and reporting.
• Provide training to site personnel on the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
• Maintain internal documentation and submit external reports to customers.
• Perform instrument calibrations.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering professional and proactive service.

Requirements

• 1 year experience working with electro-mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, motors, and plumbing.
• Experience with electrical/control panels, I/O, PLCs, and plant automation including tuning control loops and programming instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and mechanical drawings, P&IDs.
• Water treatment industry experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
• Previous hands-on/labor type work experience and ability to use basic hand tools.
• Proven ability to work remotely and independently without supervision.
• Proficiency in computers and Windows software.
• Enjoy providing customer satisfaction through a proactive response to customers.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with programmable logic controllers (1 year preferred).
• Mechanical knowledge (1 year preferred).
