About the position

The Regional Sales Manager role at Inpro is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to join a dynamic and rapidly growing sales department. This position is centered around maximizing sales and ensuring market penetration with existing accounts while actively pursuing new customers and developing new opportunities. The primary focus will be on selling the Commercial Roller Shade product line, which requires a solid understanding of the construction and bidding processes. Building and maintaining strong relationships with architecture and design firms is crucial, as this role involves significant interaction with architects, interior designers, contractors, and facility end users. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a focused strategic sales plan aimed at increasing business opportunities and achieving or exceeding sales targets. Effective territory planning will be essential to manage time productively and ensure a balanced approach to sales efforts across various customer segments. The role will require approximately 50% overnight travel within the Northeast region, covering states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Delaware, New Jersey, Vermont, and Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is organized and recognizes the importance of interpersonal relationships. They should possess a passion for selling high-quality products and be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer. A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with excellent presentation and computer skills. Prior experience in outside sales, particularly in the construction or building products sector, is highly desirable. As a Regional Sales Manager, you will not only drive sales but also act as an industry resource for customers, providing technical assistance and product recommendations, thereby establishing yourself as a trusted expert in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a focused strategic sales plan to increase business opportunities to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Utilize effective territory planning to focus sales efforts and manage time productively ensuring a proper call balance of A & D and Distribution.
  • Coordinate activities with Sales Director and Inside Sales Representative to maximize sales efforts.
  • Follow up on Weekly Quote Report to maximize quote-to-order ratio.
  • Prospect daily to uncover new lead opportunities.
  • Identify and develop relationships with all key decision-makers related to accounts to maximize sales opportunities and close ratios.
  • Develop and maintain a list of top accounts and projects throughout the Region.
  • Act as an industry resource for all Shade customers for technical assistance, product recommendations, specifications, etc.
  • Identify and analyze competition, both regionally and globally.
  • Maximize selling time by appropriately leveraging internal resources, i.e., Account Manager, Technical Support, Order Entry, Finance, etc.
  • Maintain efficient office procedures for productive use of time, planning, and reports to ensure the maintenance of accurate and updated account files and follow-up procedures.
  • Utilize and maintain all sales data systems, such as WSS, and all available construction reporting services.
  • Demonstrate effective project management skills through timely follow-up and coordination to maximize close ratio.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed during the project process.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of choosing Inpro Shades with ease and confidence.
  • Perform AIA CEU Lunch presentations (minimum of 6 required per year) throughout the Region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or field equivalency.
  • Successful sales experience can enhance this.
  • Previous inside or outside sales experience in a business-to-business environment, with a successful background in prospecting, cold-calling, and business development.
  • Extensive construction sales experience.
  • Window Coverings sales experience is highly preferred.
  • A track record of successful sales growth and teamwork.
  • Self-starter who can take initiative, working independently, as well as an effective and valued team member.
  • Above-average problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening, probing, and closing skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and complete projects on schedule.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email).
  • Ability to adapt quickly and positively in response to demands of company growth and development.
  • Must reside within the region or be willing to relocate within an agreed-upon time.
