About the position

One River School of Art & Design is seeking part-time Contemporary Art Teachers to join our team, starting in September 2024. We are looking for passionate educators to teach art classes to kids, teens, and adults during weekday afternoons and weekends. Our school locations span across Englewood, Allendale, Montclair, Millburn, Clark, and Middletown, NJ. Classes typically commence at 3:30 PM, making this an excellent opportunity for public and private school art teachers, as well as current art students in graduate programs, to earn extra income while doing what they love. At One River, we have developed a proprietary art educational system that emphasizes contemporary art education. Our curriculum is centrally created, which minimizes preparation time for teachers, and all necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are provided. Most of our teachers work onsite at our school locations; however, we also offer travel teacher opportunities for those willing to deliver our curriculum in after-school programs and other art enrichment initiatives within the community. Ideal candidates will have a passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity in students of all ages. You will be responsible for teaching a variety of proprietary classes, including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Cartooning, Manga, Digital Art, Animation, Design, and Street Art, among others. Our studios are state-of-the-art, and each school features a unique gallery space that showcases student work alongside that of emerging contemporary artists. Responsibilities

• Teach art classes to kids, teens, and adults during weekday afternoons and weekends.
• Deliver engaging and fun student-centric experiences in the classroom.
• Utilize the centrally created curriculum with minimal preparation required.
• Provide instruction in a variety of art subjects including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Cartooning, Manga, Digital Art, Animation, Design, and Street Art.
• Participate in One River development programs to enhance personal growth.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to foster a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience teaching art or digital design classes.
• BFA or BS in Art Education.
• Strong communication skills.
• A passion for One River School's mission and values.
