posted 4 months ago
One River School of Art & Design is seeking part-time Contemporary Art Teachers to join our team, focusing on teaching art to kids, teens, and adults. The positions are available for weekday afternoons and weekends, starting in September 2024, across various locations in Northern and Central New Jersey, including Englewood, Allendale, Montclair, Millburn, Clark, and Middletown. Our classes typically commence at 3:30 PM, making this an excellent opportunity for public and private school art teachers, as well as current art students in graduate programs, to earn extra income while engaging in their passion for art education. At One River, we have developed a proprietary art educational system that emphasizes contemporary art education, blending a fun and interactive social dynamic with innovative teaching methods. Our curriculum is centrally created, which minimizes preparation time for teachers, and all necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are provided. Most of our teachers work onsite at our school locations, but we also offer travel teacher opportunities for those willing to deliver our curriculum in after-school programs and other art enrichment initiatives within the community. Ideal candidates will have a passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity in students of all ages. You will be responsible for teaching a variety of proprietary classes, including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Cartooning, Manga, Digital Art, Animation, Design, and Street Art, among others. Our studios are state-of-the-art, and each location features a unique gallery space that showcases student work alongside that of emerging contemporary artists. Teaching at One River is a distinctive experience, characterized by the vibrancy and immediacy of the contemporary art scene. We are looking for thoughtful educators who can deliver engaging, student-centric experiences in the classroom, are always prepared, and are team players open to feedback, with a focus on student development and inclusion.
