About the position

The Northern California Regional Program Manager will oversee the implementation and daily operations of the California Justice Leaders (CJL) program, which supports young adults transitioning from the justice system. This role involves direct supervision of program members, collaboration with host sites, and ensuring compliance with AmeriCorps regulations. The position emphasizes social justice and community engagement, requiring strong coaching and management skills to facilitate professional development and support for participants.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach CJL Members
  • Match Members with resources and support opportunities as needed
  • Provide supportive coaching based on personal and professional needs as they arise
  • Facilitate professional development trainings and discussions for large groups of people
  • Draft, implement, and ensure adherence of Members and program staff to program policies and procedures
  • Build relationships with and provide ongoing support to host sites
  • Oversee member and host site relationships
  • Design learning opportunities tailored to Members' needs, experiences, and aspirations
  • Organize technical logistics and coordination for large-scale events and convenings
  • Support recruitment efforts, conduct community outreach, and cultivate new program partnerships
  • Gather, manage, and report data related to member and partner involvement and progress
  • Convey a compelling vision for AmeriCorps involvement to prospective hosts and external parties
  • Work with consultants as needed

Requirements

  • Experience with case management for career and/or education-based programs
  • Coaching skills based on an ethos of social justice, racial justice, community, and mutuality
  • Experience working with system-impacted people and/or vulnerable populations
  • Ability to identify academic, professional, and personal needs/strengths in participants and team members
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team
  • Highly developed time management skills and project management skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to organize information for individual members and participants, monitoring progress, and troubleshooting needs
  • Ability to work well with remote staff
  • Ability to co-manage support team staff (remote and in-person)
  • Valid driver's license and active car insurance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with formerly incarcerated individuals or those impacted by the criminal justice system
  • Familiarity with AmeriCorps programs
