About the position

Trout Unlimited Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Conservation Project Manager. This role is pivotal in leading and managing various conservation initiatives aimed at protecting and restoring coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. The ideal candidate will work closely with local communities, stakeholders, and government agencies to implement effective conservation strategies and ensure the sustainability of our natural resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage conservation projects focused on coldwater fisheries and watershed restoration.
  • Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans.
  • Conduct field assessments and monitor project progress to ensure objectives are met.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Secure funding and grants for conservation initiatives through proposal writing and networking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in conservation project management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of coldwater fisheries and watershed management practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising for conservation projects.
  • Familiarity with GIS and data analysis tools.
