About the position

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teachers to work in Orange County schools for the remainder of the 24/25 School Year. This full-time position offers competitive pay and benefits, focusing on providing quality education to deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a classroom setting.
• Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) and amplification devices effectively.
• Comply with professional standards of practice in education.
• Participate in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• Knowledge in Sign Language and use of amplification devices for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
• Experience with deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• ASL proficiency exam or Certification required.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
