About the position
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Anesthesia-Acute Pain Service team. This role involves providing acute pain management services at Spartanburg Medical Center's Church Street and Mary Black campuses. The position includes a 7 on/7 off schedule with responsibilities that encompass inpatient rounding, consults, assisting with procedures, and follow-up care for discharged patients.
Responsibilities
- Rounding on inpatients and seeing consults from 7am to 3pm, with beeper call from 3pm to 7am.
- Assisting the anesthesiologist with catheter placement and management for acute pain.
- Performing single shot nerve blocks for acute pain.
- Initiating and managing intravenous ketamine/lidocaine infusions for acute pain.
- Making follow-up phone calls to outpatients and discharged patients.
- Documenting services provided.
Requirements
- Must be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with prior OR or Critical Care experience for new graduates.
- Ability to assist anesthesiologists with procedures related to acute pain management.
