About the position

The NPD Engineering Manager at G&W Electric is responsible for leading the new product development (NPD) engineering team focused on molded products. This role involves driving the launch of innovative products, ensuring that product and process designs meet established requirements, and continuously improving design capabilities. The manager will also oversee employee development, performance evaluations, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the new product development engineering team for molded products.
  • Develop, validate, and launch innovative new products utilizing molded technologies.
  • Drive the global molding development team to achieve world-class engineering standards.
  • Ensure product and process designs meet established requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and problem-solving projects with cross-functional groups.
  • Evaluate performance of subordinates against job requirements and performance goals.
  • Develop employees' technical skills to improve departmental throughput.
  • Provide leadership and direction consistent with company goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering (preferred) or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of Engineering management experience.
  • 10+ years of Engineering Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge in materials and molded products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of P&L at a departmental level.
  • Advanced analytical and presentation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong Engineering Management experience.
  • Experience in building high-performance molding development teams.
  • Experience managing innovation through manufacturing excellence projects.
  • Creativity, innovation, and initiative.
  • Problem-solving experience using standard tools and methods (e.g., DMAIC).
  • Experience in the medium and/or high voltage industry.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt.
