About the position

The New Product Development Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Trane Technologies plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies. This position focuses on leading a team through various phases of product development, ensuring continuous improvement in product quality, and managing the work breakdown structure of the gate process. The manager is responsible for evaluating and enhancing manufacturing techniques, processes, and procedures to achieve efficient production outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Development of manufacturing process concepts and material handling systems for HVAC manufacturing.
  • Manage objectives and tasks as assigned and enable team to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate Assessment and Verification builds for new product implementations.
  • Compile and analyze statistical process control data to ensure capable processes are put in place.
  • Manage team for planning and transition to production for NPD/VAVE/Replacement using TTPDP, TTPPM, 3P, 7-ways and other BOS tools; Driving to best in class manufacturing technology in a Lean environment.
  • Establish and deliver project relevant manufacturing NPD related capital expense plan and manage implementation on time and on budget.
  • Ensure all investments meet their expected return to the business, including on time, on cost, with expected quality.
  • Provide technical assistance and leadership to the planning and purchase of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Direct team in the development of process documentation. (Process Flow, PFMEA, Work Instructions)
  • Compile quotations for equipment modification and cost estimating for process changes.
  • Ensure that asset care and reliability programs are established for new equipment.
  • Assess and develop team as needed.
  • Investigate quality / manufacturing process concerns associated with new products and develop solutions.
  • Review engineering changes to existing products. Determine the effects of the change on product performance as well as manufacturing. Update the inspection and manufacturing documentation and processes to support the changes.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in supply chain/manufacturing/operations/product design.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines and resource constraints.
