About the position

As the NQ Implementation Project Manager at Newport, an Ascensus company, you will play a critical role in managing the onboarding of new conversions and implementations onto the Newport platform. This position requires you to serve as the primary point of contact for plan sponsors, advisors, and internal Newport teams, ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding process for client plans. You will be responsible for identifying, creating, and executing project timelines and client-facing deliverables, working closely with various stakeholders to convert plan data, assets, and liabilities effectively. Your role will involve scheduling and leading weekly checkpoint calls with clients and external partners to provide project status updates and discuss any open items. You will maintain and organize client meeting materials, including agendas, minutes, and timelines, to ensure all parties are informed and aligned. A strong understanding of legal plan documents and the implementation process is essential, as you will need to translate client requests into actionable tasks. In addition, you will research and understand the client onboarding process, plan setup, and project documentation needs. Collaborating with cross-functional support teams will be crucial to resolving any system setup and configuration issues that may arise. You will take ownership of client questions and issues, utilizing available internal and external resources to facilitate resolutions. Your technical skills will be put to use as you prepare client data using advanced Excel formulas and tools, ensuring completeness and accuracy to meet compliance and client expectations. You will also be responsible for preparing necessary documentation for initial plan setup and providing post-implementation assistance by developing detailed administration manuals outlining processes and procedures related to the project. Managing multiple case assignments and adapting to changing priorities will be key to your success in this fast-paced environment. You will be expected to consistently meet or exceed performance expectations while maintaining a focus on learning and collaboration with colleagues. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is also a requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work with plan sponsors, internal/external consultants, and prior service providers to successfully convert plan data, assets, and liabilities.

  • Maintain and organize client meeting materials such as agendas, minutes, and timelines.
  • Understand legal plan documents and the implementation process, translating client requests into actionable tasks.

Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years in the retirement plan industry, with knowledge of non-qualified deferred compensation plans a plus.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of implementation and conversions of retirement plans.
