About The Position

The Perfusion Assistant for NRP Cases plays a crucial role in supporting Perfusionists during Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) procedures at donor hospitals. This position involves logistical coordination, inventory management, and assisting in the setup and maintenance of heart-lung machines, ensuring efficient operations during critical medical procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in the medical field, preferably with a Paramedic or equivalent medical background.
• NRP Certification or relevant experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to travel and work at different hospitals within New England.
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
• Flexibility to assist with NRP cases at various times of the day.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and maintenance of the heart-lung machine during NRP cases at donor hospitals.
• Utilize iPad Electronic Charting for record-keeping and data documentation during NRP cases.
• Manage inventory for equipment and supplies, including packing Go Cases/Bags for cases.
• Provide on-call services for NRP cases at various facilities throughout the service area.
• Conduct moderate complexity point-of-care tests, such as Arterial Blood Gases and Activated Clotting Times.
