About the position

Leidos is seeking a Software Architect for the National Security Sector (NSS) software organization. This role is pivotal in driving technical standards across all software development activities within the sector, ensuring consistent delivery of mission software. The successful candidate will collaborate with various leaders to establish best practices and technology roadmaps, focusing on secure software practices and innovative solutions in a classified environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with program teams, Line leadership, and CTO organization to identify software-related technology and solution roadmaps.
• Establish NSS best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches for software development.
• Define and evolve the 'NSS Way' of software development for all programs and internal efforts.
• Ensure compliance with defined software approaches and document approved tailoring plans.
• Define core software key performance indicators for all development activities.
• Support business lines and programs in strengthening their capabilities through technology and innovation.
• Provide proposal and capture support as requested by capture teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field with 15 years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to gain a security clearance for a position of trust within the US government.
• Recent experience in the National Security domain (Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Department of Defense).
• Experience supporting or leading proposal activities for National Security customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting at multiple organizational levels.
• Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.
