About the position

The Data Scientist role at NTT DATA Services involves leveraging predictive analytics to provide actionable insights and business intelligence, particularly in the context of Population Health and Health Care Services. The position requires collaboration with business stakeholders and other data scientists to design, build, and deploy machine learning models, as well as to conduct research and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven insights.
  • Design and implement data pipelines for ingestion, engineering, and analysis of data from various sources.
  • Build and test predictive models using machine learning and advanced statistical techniques.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform outreach and care decisions for members.
  • Collaborate with other data scientists to enhance model performance and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data science or data analysis with a focus on advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, forecasting, and optimization.
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning tools and frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Proven track record in building data and modeling pipelines and modeling rare events using supervised learning algorithms.
  • Outstanding applied skills in statistical analysis, modeling, and inferencing.
  • Extensive experience with Python and SQL programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience in Databricks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience with data warehouses, cloud platforms, and cloud computing such as Azure/Databricks.
  • Demonstrated examples of generating business insights that improved operations or financials.
  • Familiarity with claims data in the payer industry.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex modeling approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.
