About the position

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist at St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center is responsible for providing quality patient care and performing nuclear medicine procedures across a diverse patient demographic, including pediatric and geriatric patients. This role involves compliance with regulatory requirements, patient assessment, and collaboration with healthcare providers to deliver accurate diagnostic and therapeutic data. The technologist will also engage in continuous self-improvement and contribute to departmental education and training programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care and perform nuclear medicine procedures on patients of all ages.
• Demonstrate knowledge of certification requirements and comply with departmental protocols.
• Perform imaging procedures as outlined in the nuclear medicine procedure manual, including SPECT and planar studies.
• Conduct computer acquisition and processing for analysis and interpretation of patient conditions.
• Participate in clinical education programs for nuclear medicine personnel and contribute to staff in-services.
• Order, prepare, and perform quality control procedures on radiopharmaceuticals, administering them under established guidelines.
• Perform quality control on instrumentation in the nuclear medicine department and report issues promptly.
• Administer dosages via various methods as per hospital policy.
• Set up and perform EKG during stress testing and emergencies.
• Participate in on-call activities and complete associated paperwork accurately.

Requirements

• Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT (N) Certification required.
• CPR and BLS Certification required.
• Current certification by the State of Texas - MRT.
• Experience in patient care, particularly in geriatrics.
