About the position
The nuclear medicine technologist independently performs diagnostic imaging procedures on patients requiring our services as requested by physicians. The technologist is expected to complete these images in a proficient manner while producing the quality images expected from the reading physician. Additionally, the nuclear medicine technologist is expected to keep all proper documentation required by the DEP and policies set by our RSO. The technologist will be expected to take call as needed by the department and communicate any issues with the lead technologist, utilizing critical thinking to solve issues independently. The role involves operating GAMMA cameras and computers to produce diagnostic images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas to obtain information for use by the Radiologists in diagnosing patients' illnesses.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as requested by physicians.
- Complete imaging in a proficient manner to meet quality standards.
- Maintain proper documentation as required by the DEP and RSO policies.
- Take call as needed by the department.
- Communicate issues with the lead technologist and utilize critical thinking to resolve them.
- Operate GAMMA cameras and computers to produce diagnostic images.

Requirements
- Current, valid ARRT or CNMT certification is required.
