About the position

The Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse (RN) at Adirondack Medical Center is primarily responsible for enhancing the quality of patient care within the Nuclear Medicine department of Medical Imaging Services. This role involves utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, while coordinating with the radiologist and the director of Medical Imaging. The RN will provide care to a diverse patient population and may also engage in various diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity and improve the quality of patient care within Nuclear Medicine.
  • Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate duties with the radiologist and director of Medical Imaging.
  • Deliver patient care to individuals of all ages and medical conditions.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Current New York License.
  • Critical care experience preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certification within one year of hire.
  • General knowledge of all areas of nursing practice required.
  • Previous experience in Radiology practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and injection of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • New York State Nuclear Medicine license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in general diagnostic, interventional, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and CT.
