About the position

The Nuclear Medicine Tech PRN at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals. This role emphasizes patient care, requiring the technologist to conduct procedures with compassion and respect while ensuring accurate imaging and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans.
  • Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients according to physicians' orders.
  • Administer and record dosages as needed.
  • Conduct diagnostic studies using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation and produce images of organs.
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices as necessary.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns compassionately.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient information using computerized documentation.
  • Assist with transporting patients when required.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or Registered Radiographer (ARRT) or Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT).
