About the position

The Nuclear Project Manager at DTE Energy is responsible for managing multiple mid-size nuclear construction, security, engineering, and facility projects from the scoping phase through design, implementation, and closeout. This role requires ensuring compliance with nuclear engineering design constraints while providing leadership and direction to project team members to achieve project goals and milestones. The position involves significant coordination with various stakeholders and managing project expenditures, procurement, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple multi-year nuclear construction, security, engineering, and facility capital projects.
  • Coordinate project activities including scope of work, scheduling, estimating, and engineering.
  • Manage cost and schedule forecasting, scope, budget, quality, and schedule change control.
  • Oversee project duration and schedules to fit into on-line divisional work windows and scheduled re-fueling outages.
  • Manage communications, nuclear safety, risk management, and information distribution during project development and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, security, and nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for project expenditures and procurement of nuclear equipment and materials.
  • Provide daily management of on-site activities, working with contractors and service providers.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Management for bid meetings, supplier selections, and evaluations based on nuclear requirements.
  • Integrate project activities with stakeholders and provide contract administration services for project-related contracts.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with team members, customers, and stakeholders to facilitate successful project completion.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement or recovery opportunities to promote successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all nuclear quality assurance documentation and record-keeping requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and six years of experience in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls, engineering, project management or construction management, including three years of nuclear industry experience; OR
  • Associate's Degree and eight years of experience in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls, engineering, project management or construction management, including five years of nuclear industry experience; OR
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and ten years of experience in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls, engineering, project management or construction management, including seven years of nuclear industry experience.
