About the position

The Nuclear Quality Assurance Auditor at PSEG is responsible for conducting independent audits of various departments involved in nuclear safety, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role involves preparing and scheduling audits, reviewing documentation, assessing performance, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented based on audit findings. The auditor will maintain knowledge of NRC regulations and industry codes, contributing to the overall safety and effectiveness of plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, plans, and schedules audits and surveillances.
  • Reviews documents and witnesses the performance of audited activities.
  • Prepares checklists and agendas for audits, performs audits and assessments of performance.
  • Conducts pre-and post-audit interviews and prepares final audit reports.
  • Ensures and documents that corrective actions are taken based on reported findings.
  • Reviews the organization's QA manual and implementing procedures to verify compliance with industry codes and standards, NRC regulations, and regulatory commitments.
  • Assesses performance to INPO's Performance Objectives and Criteria (PO&C) and effectiveness of accomplishing intended results of plant activities.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NRC regulations and industry codes and standards.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in a relevant field or 6 years of experience in nuclear or commercial power technology in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to meet Nuclear Access requirements.
  • PWR or BWR operating plant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated investigative abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience level to quickly obtain Auditor, Audit Team Leader, and QC/QV certifications.
  • Must meet Nuclear's requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.
