This position is integral to the healthcare team, actively supporting the Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model, which emphasizes the importance of dignity, respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration in patient care. The Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary is responsible for delivering patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring that the needs and preferences of patients and their families are honored and respected. In this role, the Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary will engage with patients and families, listening to their perspectives and choices, and providing them with complete and unbiased information that is both affirming and useful. The position encourages active participation from patients and families in their care and decision-making processes, fostering a collaborative environment where care is delivered in partnership with those receiving it. The Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary is expected to understand the organizational needs and align their work with WakeMed's mission, vision, values, and aspirational goals, contributing to the overall well-being of the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to compassionate care and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred education including college courses related to nursing. A Nurse Aide I certification is required, along with at least one year of healthcare experience. The Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary will work day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, with weekend availability as needed, ensuring that patient care is consistently prioritized and delivered with excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and families.

  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members in the delivery of care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Nurse Aide I certification required.
  • 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
