About the position

The Nurse Aide I +4 at Atrium Health Mercy plays a crucial role in providing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This part-time position involves assisting patients with daily living activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and performing various clinical tasks to support the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Support patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assist patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Take vital signs and height and weight measurements.
• Feed and ambulate patients/residents according to specific procedures.
• Maintain patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orient patients/families to unit and instruct on safety measures.
• Assist with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records.
• Maintain stock supply items in inventory management.
• Perform technical tasks such as administering a 12-Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support HealthCare Provider certification.
• Completion of Nurse Aide I+4 Course including e-learning and instructor-led skills practice.
• Required observation activities validated twice by an RN on each skill before independent performance.
