About the position

The Nurse Aide in Training position at Diversicare Healthcare Services is designed for individuals passionate about caregiving and looking to make a difference in the lives of patients and residents. This role involves assisting Certified Nursing Assistants in providing direct care, participating in training programs, and developing the skills necessary to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The position emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and a commitment to service excellence in a supportive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Certified Nursing Assistants in providing direct care to residents/patients according to treatment plans.
  • Help with resident/patient care needs including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and room cleanliness.
  • Complete assignments directed by the training course instructor, including hands-on learning activities.
  • Attend and participate in classroom activities and scheduled orientation programs.
  • Provide safe bedside care and assistance with integrity and compassion.
  • Communicate effectively with patients/residents and nursing team members to ensure quality care.
  • Accompany residents to various activities and functions as needed.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Build relationships with patients/residents, family members, and team members.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations regarding protected health information.
  • Study and take the state-administered exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and a passion for caring for residents and patients.
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care center is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Special interest in working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.
