About the position

The Nurse Assistant position at Henry Ford Health System involves providing essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role focuses on meeting the safety and comfort needs of patients, assisting in planning and implementing care, and responding to emergencies. The Nurse Assistant will work in a specialized unit caring for patients with various medical conditions, ensuring adherence to the organization's standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and vitals monitoring.
• Conduct venipuncture and chemsticks.
• Participate in team roundings and communicate patient concerns to the RN.
• Assist in planning and implementing patient care under the RN's supervision.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course is acceptable.
• Foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license is acceptable.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role (NA, PCT, PAT, etc.).
• BLS Heart Saver Certification required during orientation.
