About the position
The Nurse Assistant in the Med Surg Neuro unit at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital provides essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role focuses on meeting the safety and comfort needs of patients, assisting in planning and implementing care, and responding to emergent situations. The position requires active participation in continuing education and adherence to the hospital's standards of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and vitals checks.
- Conduct venipuncture and chemsticks.
- Participate in team roundings.
- Identify and communicate concerns related to patients, staff, and self to the responsible RN.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- CNA certification preferred.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
- At least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
