About the position

This position is located at Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart, GA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent, comprehensive telephone and clinical triaging.
• Act as relief nurse, triages and screens walk-in patients to assess the severity of the patient's condition and the need for provider intervention.
• Make psychosocial assessment of patients to identify significant cultural practices, the ability to understand and cooperate, and expectations of care and coping mechanisms.
• Assess post-procedure patients prior to their release from the clinic.
• Perform consults for the education of patients in the outpatient setting.
• Participate in hospital and clinic meetings, and performance improvement activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
• Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
• This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
