Responsibilities

  • Oversee unit resources and personnel to ensure appropriate staffing levels based on patient needs.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of physical, social, and psychological status of patients.
  • Model and foster an environment of professionalism and employee engagement.
  • Advocate for nursing teams in respective practice areas.
  • Support nursing management with key messaging and priority initiatives.
  • Coordinate and organize patient care delivery by managing time, supplies, and resources.
  • Forecast and communicate accurate information on patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Evaluate and promote staff competency and compliance with policies through performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement plans to enhance staff clinical competency and patient experience.
  • Integrate legal and ethical standards into nursing practice and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Make decisions related to staffing, hiring needs, and caregiver retention.
  • Assist staff members with direct patient care as needed.
  • Promote safety, quality, and experience for patients and caregivers.

Requirements

  • Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Nurses (RNs) must obtain their BSN within four years of hire or promotion.
