The Nurse Clinical Leader in Med Surg at Intermountain Health provides leadership and clinical expertise within their department, managing unit resources and supervising personnel to ensure appropriate staffing levels based on patient needs. This role includes significant leadership responsibilities such as leading change, scheduling, staff competency maintenance, and performance reviews, while also working as a bedside RN to assess and implement patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and clinical expertise during shifts and within the department.
• Manage unit resources and supervise personnel to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical, social, and psychological status.
• Model professionalism and employee engagement on the unit.
• Set priorities and coordinate patient care delivery effectively.
• Forecast and communicate patient placement information accurately.
• Evaluate and promote staff competency and compliance with policies.
• Develop and implement plans for staff development from novice to expert.
• Integrate legal and ethical standards into nursing practice.
• Make decisions related to staffing and hiring needs.
• Assist staff members with direct patient care as needed.
• Promote safety, quality, and experience for patients and caregivers.

Requirements

• Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
