About the position

This position is located at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, within various clinics of the Eisenhower Army Medical Center. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation is not available to candidates who are new to Federal service or current Federal employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous patient observation, monitoring and reporting to prevent complications and restore the patient to health.
  • Interpret vital signs, signs and symptoms of deterioration in condition, and normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms.
  • Initiate life-saving measures, which include, but are not limited to cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Administer and monitor the use of medications.
  • Serve as a Clinical Staff Nurse on medical/surgical/pediatric wards/ambulatory surgery center and ambulatory clinics.
  • Provide information on disease process, pre and post-operative care, diagnostic procedures, use of equipment related to disease/care, health maintenance, etc.
  • Provide nursing care to highly complex patients in consistently present with real or potential life-threatening emergencies, chronic illnesses, diseases and involve labor intense nursing interventions.

Requirements

  • Must have a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Must have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.
  • Must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • Must be able to lift moderate to heavy weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Must consent to pre-employment screening and random drug testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous ICU and/or PACU experience is preferred.
