About the position

The Nurse Educator - Oncology at Bayer is responsible for providing education and support regarding oncology disease states and Bayer products to healthcare professionals in Northern California and Nevada. This role serves as a liaison between Bayer and healthcare providers, focusing on account management, education, and advocacy initiatives to enhance patient care and product understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain full proficiency in franchise products, tumor types, disease states, and business knowledge to support customer accounts and sales teams.
  • Maintain primary focus on account management and high priority customers within academic institutions, area hospitals, and community settings.
  • Educate key customers on franchise products and oncology disease states, including clinical education on appropriate patients, proper dosing, and safe and effective use of products.
  • Support advocacy initiatives around patient education.
  • Provide clinical expertise and support to the training department.
  • Set goals, develop strategies, and pull through educational opportunities for high priority accounts.
  • Collaborate with field teams and contribute to strategic plans for target account growth.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and persuasive abilities.
  • Take lead on project initiatives and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Provide Key Opinion Leader feedback to Bayer internal partners.
  • Interact with healthcare professionals to develop ongoing company rapport and address issues.
  • Build productive internal work relationships with cross-functional partners and lead in a collaborative environment.
  • Identify, build, and maintain strategic, long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), mid-level providers, and nursing professionals in the oncology community.
  • Serve as an education conduit and product expert for both internal and external business partners.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with brand teams and assist in the development of product and disease-state education pieces.

Requirements

  • Current license in nursing (such as RN, NP, APN).
  • At least three years of clinical oncology experience.
  • Excellent presentation, platform, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of oncology practices within the geography.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
