Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse manager in managing daily nursing activities within the department.
• Conduct employee evaluations and participate in the hiring process.
• Manage budgetary responsibilities and ensure effective resource allocation.
• Facilitate collaborative decision-making and uphold professional independence.
• Assist with the development and management of the annual capital/operating and personnel budget for the unit.
• Coordinate with the nurse manager to ensure adequate staffing and employee satisfaction.
• Evaluate staff competency through performance reviews and peer reviews.
• Monitor and improve patient satisfaction using service metrics and benchmarks.
• Act as a role model for staff in patient care delivery.
• Support staff participation in community organizations and volunteer activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Completion of Intermountain's leadership training and development courses within one year of accepting the position.
• 2 years of clinical experience.
