About the position

The BMT/Cellular Therapy Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of healthcare professionals in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cellular Therapy program. This role involves directing patient care, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and collaborating with various departments to enhance care delivery. The manager will also focus on staff development, performance improvement, and maintaining high patient and family satisfaction levels.

Responsibilities

  • Direct a team of HBC Nurse Coordinators, Practice Coordinators, and Unrelated Search Coordinator.
  • Oversee the evaluation and coordination of patient care in the BMT/Cellular Therapy team.
  • Develop, implement, and revise standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations and accreditations.
  • Utilize performance improvement indicators to evaluate staff and patient care.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of staff.
  • Engage in quality management activities for the BMT program.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve service utilization and efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge of new procedures, policies, and technologies in BMT/Cellular Therapy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum three (3) years of RN experience in Hematology/BMT/Cellular Therapies.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a nurse supervisor or nurse manager role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance environments.
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in healthcare.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaborative decision making.
  • Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • BMTCN (ONCC) certification.
  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience with TJC and FACT accreditation surveys.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a BMT/Cellular Therapy nurse coordinator in an academic setting.
