About the position

The Nurse Manager for Community Health Services (CHS) in King County is a leadership role responsible for ensuring that nursing practices and standards of care are effectively implemented across all CHS services. This position involves oversight of workflow development within the department's electronic health record and coordination of changes related to care team practices. The role emphasizes collaboration, quality assurance, and the development of nursing staff to enhance service delivery in a diverse community.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CHS quality and Public Health Center leaders to oversee nursing practice.
  • Provide leadership to ensure effective communication between CHS program leadership and the electronic health record team.
  • Ensure clinical workflows meet evidence-based competencies for clinical staff.
  • Maintain compliance with established nursing standards, including quality assurance and control.
  • Lead nurse training and development in collaboration with program and PHC leaders.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities with care teams and clinical leadership.
  • Develop mechanisms for assessing individual competencies of nurses and medical assistants.
  • Build effective relationships with external grant partners to achieve grant deliverables.
  • Manage and supervise clinical staff within the division's float pool.
  • Implement nursing standards of care and practices for quality care delivery.

Requirements

  • Washington State license as a Registered Nurse (in good standing).
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree (MSN, DNP, or PhD) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current BLS CPR certification with AED training.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license or ability to travel throughout King County.
  • Ability to pass background check and credentialing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health records, particularly Epic Care.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
