About the position
The Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves managing a team of over 55 direct reports, including RNs, healthcare techs, LPNs, EMTs, and psych techs. The position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to build a positive workplace culture. The Nurse Manager will work primarily Monday to Friday but must also be available for night shifts and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the nursing staff in the Emergency Department.
- Ensure high-quality patient care and safety standards are met.
- Manage a team of over 55 direct reports including RNs, healthcare techs, LPNs, EMTs, and psych techs.
- Build and maintain a positive workplace culture.
- Conduct team building and communication initiatives.
- Round on staff and be available for night shifts and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing or related field.
- 3 years of nursing experience required, with 5+ years preferred.
- Valid certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, and CPI (to be obtained within 45 days).
