Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour accountability for the Emergency Department operations.
• Develop staffing matrices to ensure safe, quality patient care.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new nursing associates.
• Conduct evaluations and assist with goal setting for nursing staff.
• Facilitate associate education and promote professional development.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and develop strategies for improvement.
• Manage incident reporting and promote evidence-based practice changes.
• Participate in emergency response planning and preparation.
• Demonstrate effective conflict management and crisis management skills.
• Promote a culture of safety and support shared decision-making.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN.
• Current nursing license in Montana or ability to obtain one.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within two years of hire.
• Leadership experience in nursing or related committees.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in nursing (MSN).
• Formal leadership experience as a charge nurse or supervisor.
• Experience with performance improvement processes/tools.
