About the position

The Nurse Manager for the Medicine Specialty Clinics at the Lebanon VA Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the 24/7 operations of the unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, and leading a team of nursing staff. This role involves directing staff training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of accountability and inclusivity. The Nurse Manager collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care outcomes and implements evidence-based practices while adhering to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the 24/7 operations of the Medicine Specialty Clinics.
  • Direct and supervise staff orientation, training, and development.
  • Evaluate individual staff performance and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Engage in professional organizations to promote leadership and career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in strategy planning and execution aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage staffing schedules creatively to minimize overtime usage.
  • Attend necessary nursing meetings and facilitate process analysis.
  • Complete annual performance appraisals and maintain staff competency files.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a state or territory of the U.S.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Proficiency in basic written and spoken English.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3-5 years of progressive nursing experience.
