About the position
The Nurse Manager (RN) at PAM Health is responsible for providing clinical leadership and administrative oversight in the nursing unit. This role involves collaborating with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure high-quality nursing care and effective staffing. The Nurse Manager will focus on continuous improvement in nursing and rehabilitation care, while also being accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership in conjunction with the CNO/DON.
- Assume responsibility for nursing administrative decisions in the absence of the CNO/DON.
- Manage nursing staffing and assignments.
- Conduct performance evaluations for nursing staff.
- Make clinical and administrative decisions related to nursing care.
- Ensure continuous improvement of nursing and rehabilitation care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and maintain quality nursing care on the unit.
Requirements
- Valid RN License in the state of application.
- Current BLS certification.
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
Nice-to-haves
- Current ACLS certification preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment.
- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care.
