About the position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager (RN or LPN) for our Battle Ground Medical Clinic. This position is crucial in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the clinic, working closely with the Health Center Administrator and Clinical Director. The Nurse Manager will oversee both clinical and administrative supervision of all nursing personnel, which includes managing approximately 10-12 Medical Assistants (MAs) and their supervisors. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, calm, passionate, and motivated to make a difference in the community, particularly in understanding the Social Determinants of health and their implications in Community Health Care. In this role, the Nurse Manager will implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator, ensuring compliance with Sea Mar's standards and governmental regulations. Responsibilities will also include performing monthly audits, demonstrating knowledge of State and Federal Regulations applicable to health centers or hospitals, and focusing clinic efforts on quality measures, HEDIS, and Meaningful Use standards. The Nurse Manager will provide annual training for MAs on topics such as infection control and sterilization techniques, lead hiring efforts for MAs, and participate in the hiring of other support staff. Additionally, the Nurse Manager will oversee and maintain a patient care system for nurse-only visits, ensuring high-quality care for all patients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and evaluate approximately 10-12 Medical Assistants (MA), including MA supervisors.
  • Implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator to meet Sea Mar's standards, philosophy, and governmental regulations.
  • Perform monthly audits (NPSG audits, etc.) and demonstrate knowledge of State and Federal Regulations as they apply to health centers or hospitals.
  • Focus clinic efforts on quality measures, HEDIS, and Meaningful Use standards.
  • Provide annual MA trainings (Infection control, sterilization techniques, etc.).
  • Lead hiring efforts for any MAs and participate in the hiring of other support staff.
  • Oversee and maintain a patient care system of nurse-only visits.

Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an accredited college or university with an active RN or BSN license in the state of Washington.
  • LPNs will be considered if they possess equivalent experience to satisfactorily meet the qualifications.
  • Must complete state mandated HIV education.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), listening, and team building abilities a must.
