About The Position

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing station(s) at Gulf Coast Village. This role involves coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing services provided to residents on a 24-hour basis, while supervising the direct care staff assigned to the unit. The position requires effective communication and leadership skills to ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Previous long-term care experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make independent judgments.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Effective communication skills with staff, families, and external agencies.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and work flexible hours.
• Understanding of Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention, and OSHA guidelines.

• Experience in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day activities of the assigned nursing station(s).
• Coordinate, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing services for residents.
• Supervise direct care staff assigned to the Nurse Manager's Unit/Household.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure compliance with orders.
• Perform direct care activities as needed.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures for resident care.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure nursing staff are performing their duties according to standards.
• Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
• Complete and investigate accident/incident reports and assist with abuse/neglect reporting.
