About the position

The Nurse Manager, RN at St. Leonard is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care while adhering to nursing service objectives and standards. This role involves both clinical and management responsibilities, serving as a resource and role model for nursing staff, and overseeing care activities to minimize infection risks. The Nurse Manager participates in quality assurance committees and maintains effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assure quality resident care while maintaining nursing service objectives and standards.
  • Serve as a resource person in clinical and management settings.
  • Act as a positive clinical role model and effective change agent.
  • Oversee higher-risk resident care activities to minimize infection risks.
  • Participate on the facility's Quality Assurance and Assessment (QAA) Committee.
  • Conduct annual infection control risk assessments and facility assessments.
  • Maintain documentation of infection prevention and control activities.
  • Perform activities related to nursing care needs of residents.
  • Document in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Utilize organizational skills in the delivery of nursing care.
  • Participate in the establishment, implementation, and evaluation of unit performance improvement programs.
  • Satisfy all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.
  • Currently certified in CPR.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred.
