About the position
The Nurse Manager Surgical Services at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital is responsible for providing leadership and expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care in a surgical environment. This role involves overseeing nursing practices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and fostering collaboration among healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and take responsibility for the delivery of safe, quality patient care for assigned departments on a 24-hour basis.
- Ensure department's standard of nursing practice, nursing policies, and procedures meet legal and regulatory agency requirements.
- Ensure continuity of care through an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.
- Collaborate and share pertinent patient information with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment.
- Develop and implement ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
- Ensure effective coordination of patient care with other services and departments throughout the hospital.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
- Nursing diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- PC skills are necessary.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in surgical services management is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality improvement processes in healthcare.
