About the position

The Nurse Manager is responsible for providing clinical leadership and management for a designated unit of patient care at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital. This role involves ensuring excellence in patient and family service, fostering staff development, and applying evidence-based practices within the outpatient dialysis department. The Nurse Manager operates on a 24-hour basis, aligning with the institution's philosophy and goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and management for the outpatient dialysis unit.
• Develop and sustain an environment of excellence in patient and family service.
• Foster growth and development of staff through effective leadership.
• Apply evidence-based practices in patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing.
• A Master's Degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current and valid New York State RN license required.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI as required for the assigned area of practice.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Strong leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Nurse Executive (ANCC) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (AONE) certification preferred.
