About the position

OhioGuidestone is seeking a qualified Nurse - Medicine Administration, to join our team at our Children's Residential Treatment Center. As a Medicine Administrator you will work in a collaborative team environment with the Floor Nurse/Nurse Supervisor, and Program Director. This position requires a nurse with excellent communication and organization skills as well as attention to detail. Experience working with children or Mental/Behavioral Health patients is a huge plus! This individual would be working 7AM-9AM OR 7PM-9PM - 2 hour shifts with a great pay! Responsibilities

  • Distributes medication as ordered by physician to cottage residents and documents in medication administration record.
  • Orders and prepares medications for administration.
  • Establishes and maintains an open line of communication with nursing staff, Residential Treatment Specialists, and Nursing Supervisor.
  • Monitors client vitals and reports to Medical Providers.
  • Instructs employees regarding medications and medical procedures for each client as it relates to that employee.
  • Documents client records, labs, medical records, and OARRS within Agency designated standards.
  • Meets and sustains the OhioGuidestone designated productivity standard.
  • Provides ongoing education for infectious disease, Hepatitis, vitals, and medications for employees.
  • Carries out orders as received from providers.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, Agency trainings, and supervision meetings.
  • Accepts assignments for, and travels to, various Agency locations, as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.
  • Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Demonstrates positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license required.
  • Valid State of Ohio Nursing License required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Behavioral Health lifespan preferred.
  • Must have a valid Ohio driver's license, safe driving record and proof of insurance required.
  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test, and drug screening.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children or Mental/Behavioral Health patients.
